Week of May 17th 2010
Happy Monday!
Its my birthday week!!!! I am only 3 years away from my nervous breakdown lol! I was kind of getting bummed about reaching my late 20's (I'll be 27) but I am actually really excited about it. I haven't been thin since I was 19 years old. I have spent my early and mid twenties overweight so I am excited that I am going to spend my remaining 20's thin!!!!
T-ball is over this week for Zach which is going to clear up our Saturdays now. I was looking for another activity to sign him up for this summer and I stumbled upon a runners clinic our city's recreation department having. As I have said before I am more than likely going to run a 5k this fall and I am really happy that our city is having that clinic. Well, here are my stats for the week:
Starting weight (Feb 1st 2010):200
Current Weight:167.8 lbs
Difference from last week: -1 lbs (weigh in last week was 168.8)
Total loss: -32.2 lbs
Thats all I have for now. Have a great week!

Week of May 3rd 2010
Hello to all,
This is a tad late but hey I had a great mini vacation in our Nations Capitol and I am just getting readjusted :) I will be honest during those five days I was not 100 percent on plan but I really did try to eat as healthfully as possible. When I weighed myself on Monday I had gained 3 lbs back. I did not freak out or beat myself up over it (I find that to be very counterproductive) I just pulled myself together and went for a peaceful run. Those three pounds came off in the matter of a day. Well after just a couple of days back on track I lost an additional 2 lbs. Thats right I am 170lbs!!!! Those last ten were a challenge but I am not looking back only moving forward!!! So here are my mid-week stats:
Starting weight (Feb 1st 2010):200
Current Weight:17o (even) lbs
Difference from last week: -2 lbs
Total loss: -3o lbs ! Only 40 to go!!!!
Since I have been running I have decided to run my first 5k in the fall. I found one in September close to home that I think that I am going to enter. That gives me a few months to train.
Well that's all for now. See you on Monday :)

Week of 4-26-10
GOOD MONDAY MORNING!
Well this is the start of what is going to be a wonderful week! I get to go to our Nations Capital this week and see some of our wonderful historical monuments. I am really going to miss my kiddos but I know that they are in good hands with my MIL. I am happy because the hotels that we are staying at have fitness centers so I might not be able to eat as well as I have been but I can still work out.
I can fit into a size 12 now! I still have a little muffin top in that size but I can zip them up which is huge! I don't like being in the in between sizes stage but if I keep losing I will be there in no time.
Here are my stats for the week:
Starting weight (Feb 1st 2010):200
Current Weight:172.4 lbs
Difference from last week: -2.2 lbs
Total loss: -27 lbs

Hi everyone,
The last couple weeks have been crazy for us! I got a little off track during Easter but I am doing great again and I am back to losing. Here are my stats:
Starting weight (Feb 1st 2010):200
Current Weight:174.6 lbs
Total loss: -25 lbs
25 POUNDS GONE!!!!! When I weighed in I received a nice milestone star on my weight tracking chart, a big blue star with a 25 in it! I cannot believe it! Only 45 lbs left to go!
The last couple weeks have been crazy for our family. I got a little off track during Easter and I had a little stall in my weight loss. I am back on track though. My son had his 4th birthday last week and I didn't give in to temptation and didn't have a crumb of birthday cake. On his actual birthday, Zach wanted a strawberry pie. I think our healthy eating habits are really rubbing off on our 4 year old!
I had to throttle back on my running. I tried to go to the next level but I am just not ready to move up yet. So I am going to move slowly and gradually build up to where I want to be.
Thats all for now! Have a great week!

March 1st 2010
Hi everyone! Today is a wonderful day! It is the first day in my favorite month of the year and so far its off to a great start.
Weight in stats
Starting weight:200 lbs
Weight Last Week:186
Current Weight:184 lbs (just 3 away from what I was after Erin was born)
Difference: -2lbs
Total loss: 16 lbs
I am excited about my loss. I am past the initial big losses so hopefully I can lose 1-2 lbs a week from here on out. I have been able to shave about 11 weeks off of my goal so instead of being done in 70 weeks which would of put me at next June I might be done by middle of March 2011.
Guy is down 13 lbs! He started a week after me and he is doing great! We have been having a great time doing this together.
This is off topic but I am a proud mama! Erin started standing this week! She is only 7 months old and is really trying to walk. There will be a great way for me to lose weight right there. I am chasing the little one around.
Thats all for now.

Weigh in for 2-22-10
Hey everyone! Sorry I was M.I.A last week. Both of my kids got sick and Guy's dear Grandmother passed away. It has been one crazy week and we are hoping this one is better. I had a major loss this week!
Starting weight:200
Weight last week: 191
Weigh in weight: 186 woo hoo
Difference:-5
Total loss: 14 lbs
Guy has lost about 10 lbs since he started too.
I got two new cookbooks last week that have been awesome. I got Weight Watchers in 20 minutes and The Hungry Girl-Recipes and Survival Strategies for Eating in the Real World. I highly recommend both books especially the latter. I have also come up with some low calorie alternatives to some of our favorite recipes.
I feel like we are indulging instead of dieting. The other day we had left over points and we just couldn't use them because we were just too full!
I hope you all have a great week!

Weigh In for 2-8-10
I weighed in at 196 this week! That is a loss of 4 lbs :) The first week went better than I had expected it to. I was amazed that a lot of the meals that I had been making for my family were not really high in points value. I was just overstuffing myself!
The first time I was on the program I was under the misconception that I had to eat "diet" food and that is so not the case. I am able to make healthy meals and they are still so yummy! I even got a new cookbook last weekend that I am looking forward to cooking out of.
My main problem with food is that I was eating to get full. That is not healthy or smart. I am learning to eat until I am satisfied. The new momentum program is teaching me how to do that.
Oh, and my wonderful husband Guy has joined WW for men too! So we are in this together. I am excited for him and am excited to be doing this together!
Here are my stats for this week:
Starting weight: 200
Current weight:196
Change:-4
This weeks goal:-2 lbs
I hope everyone has a great week!

WII Fit is an Evil Bitch and FAKE HUNGER
I started a workout routine on Tuesday and I am trying to get into a groove. My wonderful husband bought me EA Active for Christmas. I am currently doing the 30 day challenge. I have been trying to actually get past day two of the challenge for over a month!!!! I will start and get distracted with the kids or household duties. I decided that I can do it and not make any excuses as to why I don't have time!
Today is my rest day for the 30 day challenge so I thought I would dust off my WII Fit and see where I am now. The last time I used that was almost 5 months ago! I weighed about 178 lbs at the time. I did the body test and I had gained 17 lbs since the last time I did the test. I knew I had gained 20 lbs so no big shock there. However, I think the little voice on there is sooooo mean. It tells you your BMI and the little bastard tells me in a robotic voice, "THAT'S OBESE". Okay so I know I am fat and that is why I am working out but geez lets add a little insult to injury!
I thought I might try a little yoga and core exercises. I can't stand the trainer! She for one looks like a corpse. She is a grayish color. She almost looks like a character from the Dire Straits music video "Money for Nothing" (I was a little kid in the 80's and that video scared the crap out of me!) Secondly she is not really all that helpful or motivating. I love the trainer from EA Active. The whole game is more positive and helpful :) I do a few exercises I used to be rather good at and I am so out of practice I almost fall off of the balance board. It was just a humbling reminder of why I am changing my lifestyle ;)
The other day I was reading on the Weight Watchers website about bad eating habit and I came across an article about feeling hungry when your not. I hadn't realized that I was one of those people until I kept reading. I never considered myself an emotional eater or a boredom eater but I SOOOOO AM!
Day one of this new change I was sitting with the hubby watching TV and I said "Dude, I am hungry". I read about feeling hungry earlier that day. I was headed to the kitchen and remembered the article and pondered "Wait, am I truly hungry or am I "FAKE HUNGRY"? Yes, fake hungry. It is when you think you are hungry when you are bored, emotional, anxious, or even THIRSTY (I KNOW HUNGRY WHEN YOU ARE ACTUALLY THIRSTY WTF??!!!!) I evaluated how I felt and realized that I was bored. So I grabbed a tall glass of water and decided to turn in for the evening. I quickly realized that the culprit of my night snacking was the fact that I am basically sitting an doing nothing.
So the next day I just kept myself busy instead of having long stretches of idle time. I had a play day with my kiddos and when they were sleeping I got online and read or got onto Facebook. I feel like I am actually sleeping better now.
So the moral of this post is to keep at a workout routine by doing something you like and do not succumb to being "Fake Hungry"
Have a great day all!

The beginning!
Today is day one of my new life! I so excited about the choice I have made to become healthier and more energetic!
I have officially started Weight Watchers Online. I am really excited about it because they have changed the program since the last time I was a member. They have a great program called the Momentum program which gives you a list of more filling foods. That is great for me because I am a quantity eater especially since I am nursing my six month old daughter, Erin.
I have been struggling with my weight since my early 20's. I had always been a very lean and active girl until I moved out on my own in 2002. I started to eat a lot of take out dinners and didn't make the time for exercise. My weight started to creep up slowly until I got married in 2005.
After my wedding I gained 20 lbs in less than 4 months!!!! I got pregnant with my son, Zachary around that time and gained 50 lbs during my pregnancy (32 lbs of it happened during my last month). Luckily, I lost 40 lbs a week after he was born but I was still way overweight and needed a change. I joined Weight Watchers Online and I lost 20 lbs. I was about 10 lbs lighter than my pre-pregnancy weight.
I quit soon after because I felt I learned enough life strategies to keep losing. Boy was I wrong. Not only had I gained the 20 lbs back I had gained an additional 20! So I tried again to get back on the wagon so to speak and I lost the weight again. I joined the gym and was making more healthful choices. I was doing really well and then I moved into my new home and fell off the wagon yet again! I gained every pound back again.
In October 2008 we were blessed with another pregnancy. I was having a girl this time! I was so happy to be having another baby! I was horrified when I saw what my beginning weight was! 20 lbs over my pre-pregnancy weight with Zach. I vowed not to gain as much weight this time around like I had with Zachary. I ate very well and drank lots of water. I actually lost 10 lbs in my first trimester, and gained about 10 lbs total the entire pregnancy. I was astounded when I went to my two week checkup and found that I had lost 26 lbs! I weight 16 lbs less than my pre-pregnancy weight.
When I found out how much weight I had lost I was motivated to keep the momentum going! I figured since I was breastfeeding her the weight would just keep coming off. I wanted to start a weight loss program and keep losing. Unfortunately, I procrastinated and decided to wait until after the holidays to start my weight loss program. Big mistake! I gained 20 lbs back in the past six months!
At that point I have decided enough is enough. I am really tired of this lose 20 gain 20 pattern. The best part about the last year as far as my food choices is that I rarely crave bad foods. I absolutely hate fast food and fattening restaurant chains! I want to change my lifestyle this time for the long haul and not just for temporary reasons. We are done having babies so I want to start a new chapter in my life. A new healthful life!!!
I am starting this blog, not for attention but to keep myself motivated. I feel by keeping this online diary that I could hold myself accountable. Why 70 lbs in 70 weeks well I am currently nursing my daughter and 1 lb a week is what is healthy for the two of us right now. No, do not plan to nurse the whole time so just maybe I will reach my goal quicker. I am not going to stress about that though.
So I am going to reveal my starting weight and this is the first time that I HAVE EVER TOLD ANYONE! Not even my husband know this:
200 lbs
Weight Watchers goal: 150 lbs
%5 goal: 190 lbs
Personal goal: 130 lbs in 70 weeks or less.
Thanks for reading! I look forward to the months ahead! I will be posting pictures as I go along and blogging frequently!
